The Passion of Mel Gibson

How delightfully they jar, the two images we have of Mel Gibson, on the one hand the sanctimonious and pious director of the Passion of the Christ, and on the other, the drink-driving staggering, racist boor.  It just goes to show, when you scratch a ‘devout’ Catholic, you usually find a bigot.  IN VINO VERITAS.
